With THIS update.. the prologue is DONE and the story will begin with the next update, which will take place a month from now. I need to cut back temporarily to work on other obligations AND conventions!
I am penciling two pages a week and will ink as I have time. Color is going to take a little more time. There’s a good chance it won’t be back until next fall as I catch up on things and get the site moved to a different theme. I have a bunch of other work I’m doing on other comics as well that needs to get done, which will in the end, help here.
I don’t really post reviews, I just post things about what I liked and what I liked about it. Too many reviews give away too much about the story. This one I found on Netflix this morning and watched while inking a page of Black Rose. The CGI is just above typical SyFy offering. Pretty good actually. There are parts that they should’ve used their costume model over the CGI one and they’re sadly very obvious.
As for the story, it was NOT what I expected at all. Overall, I enjoyed it, because it has a werewolf theme I’m seeing more often that I personally like, that of a ‘good’ wolf. The costumes were good. Lots of action and blood, with some rather fake heads being blown off. I’m not a fan of gore, so you’ll rarely see it in my illustrations unless someone challenges me to do it. The acting was good, as in, I didn’t feel like I was watching a bunch of people in their first movie and it was simply enjoyable.
They tossed in quite a few twists and turns that makes this worth watching on Netflix.
Little bias from me, anything with a werewolf in it gets a +100% in how much I will like it. Except one series… where even werewolves can’t get me to sit through it…
I was able to see Hotel Transylvania over the weekend with my husband and daughter. First movie Kim has sat ENTIRELY through without getting up or being wiggly at all. About time. She’s 9.
We all really enjoyed the movie. As fans of Adam Sandler we went in hoping for something humorous, but knowing how horrible some of his recent movies have been as well as how bad 8 Crazy Nights was, wasn’t fully sure what we were actually going to see. (8 Crazy Nights wasn’t really that bad, it was just kind of … odd.)
Overall, it was really a cute and touching family type movie with cute bats. Finally, bats are CUTE. There were a few things in it that broke the usual Dad hating boy who is attracted to daughter routine. Loved the werewolves. It’s one we will definitely pick up on blu when it comes out.
