Update Delay

Basically, my tablet pc died.  I do all my inking on the tablet and Black Rose didn’t update this week solely because of that.  It WILL return next week – because I already have half a dozen pages inked.

The rest below here is more for readers of the other comics who might miss the news so I’m making sure it’s EVERYWHERE.

I was a bit caught up in the whole, What is wrong with my computer, it won’t turn on! panic.  A lot of time was spent on that, getting HP to connect my account to my replacement plan (I had a two year one just in case of such a situation.)  I got the tablet sent off yesterday afternoon and it’ll be in their hands tomorrow, which means on Monday they SHOULD start working on it and sometime during the following week it should come back to me … and with luck.. three Mondays from now I’ll have my tablet back.. with luck.

Now, the big issue is that the software I ink on is ON the tablet.  It came with it so I can’t install it on my desktop.  I have, btw, gone through trying to ink in Photoshop – slooow, unnatural, Flash – smooth, but clunky and  Manga Studio EX 3 – not sensitive enough to ink properly, which is apparently a common problem.  (I use Painter Essentials to ink… not even an expensive program, can get it for $40, but I intend to get the full Painter 11 at some point and nowhere around here has it for that.) Sooo, I opted to upgrade to Manga Studio EX 4 – which has improved to the ‘right’ feel for inking.  Sadly, their order form is annoying.  I wanted a physical copy AND a digital download so I could get it and use it immediately.  I ordered the physical upgrade and EXPECTED that there would be a link to a digital copy, because anytime I’ve ordered software from anywhere else, you go in and order and you get that option.

Apparently I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right. 9.9  I chose the wrong selection and have had a lovely runaround from their so called ‘support’ which ended in: Most people who order a physical copy don’t want a digital copy.

I am not pleased.

I hope they ship it in time for my next round of inking.

Hiatus … AGAIN

At for this one it barely even got off the ground again. 9.9

I’m actually MOST upset about not being able to update Black Rose. … I’ve been wanting to work on this for over five years now. :(

Well, as most of you know, this month (and September) did not go anywhere near how it should have gone.  The sites being up and down along with my daughter being ill with Swine flu (and my husband and myself)  kind of had serious ramifications for work. :/  Basically, it comes down to being behind to a point that I have to stop doing the comics I simply want to do to concentrate on other things.  Mainly the backlog of wallpapers and books that must be put together for the others that were supposed to be worked on in the last two months.  I hope to start this comic back up again in 2010, but I know I’m just going to struggle along with barely an update a month.  Until then, sign up for the RSS.  I have way too many pages of scripts for each of these stories to let them sit…

Tiny Delay

Gah – delays are far more noticeable in a weekly comic than any other. This delay is just me needing to get other work done. The next comic IS ready. It’s the title page for the next chapter, so I felt that it was better to stop and hold this one now and update it next week than to toss it up and then have nothing to follow it for the following update.

No Update This Week

This should be the last of missed weeks until Marh – when Spring Break happens.  For those who don’t know, my husband gets the same breaks as my daughter does, so I have them home for the ENTIRE christmas break.  Kim was really sick for three days and they basically wouldn’t leave me alone – so this week I’m just going to ignore them since all the Christmas Fun Stuff is over anyway.

Hiatus

Black Rose will resume updating in late August. I apologize for the lack of notice, it was not a decision I wanted to make and was somewhat forced into it. I will be concentrating on finishing commissions, getting new ones and books for the time being.

Yes, I keep forgetting to post this: Black Rose is on hiatus until after the new year. :/ Can’t get around it. Have to do other work to put groceries in the pantry so that I can continue this in the future as well.
