I took Kimberly (4 years old) to see Horton Hears a Who on Monday I think it was with my husband. We really enjoyed it.

Overall it was really cute and well done. After the horrible appearing Grinch and Cat in the Hat movies, my initial impression was to groan, “Not ANOTHER one.” I have seen about ten minutes of the Grinch and none of the other, nor will I. I won’t let Kim watch them either. It’s all WRONG.

Fortunately, we have Blue Sky to thank for Horton and they have done great movies in the past (Ice Age), which I’ve enjoyed and so has Kim. They did a wonderful job on it! I hope they get to handle other Dr. Seuss stories as well! It was well animated, well voiced and funny. The storyline was good for being based on a short story and did not feel stretched. (I’ve never actually READ Horton Hears a Who, but have read others and know they’re usually quick reads.)

My favorite part… and my husband’s, was the randomly inserted and insane anime segment. đŸ˜€ Completely unexpected. Completely nonsensical, but fun.

Overall, it was a good fun movie… next month.. Nim’s Island.
